We are al superheroes

This is my soul sister Genine's gorgeous daughter Keira yesterday wearing my well loved superhero necklace Joy.
I have been wearing this necklace everyday. I absolutely love it and feel so much like a superhero when I wear it.
Each time I see Keira she wants to wear it. Wouldn't it be great if there were superhero kids necklaces?
I have been feeling a bit in need for some superhero powers lately. My emotions seem a bit raw as I venture into this new aspect of my business, of portrait work.
My friend Genine started portrait work as a side business around the time I started my etsy store. Having her support and encouragement to pursue my own portrait business has been amazing. I have been lucky to have the support of so many of you for a long while....with many of you being photographers as well. But there is something so beautiful and amazing about having someone you live near, someone who your client bases very well may overlap, support you that is life changing for me.
It has brought a lot of feelings to the surface and has meade me want to look at my own ability to share and be supportive, without allowing my ego to get in the way.
To constantly remind myself that there is more than plenty to go around for all of us. That each artist is unique and something special to offer, even if they try the same techniques.
I am really embracing this idea that we all can be superheroes-we all can be rockstars. We can bring out the thunder in eachotehr without it taking away from our own.
No one can steal your mojo or your thunder. What they can do however is find their own through you sharing yours.
So I blogged on my business blog some fabulous links and an invitation to share what I know with anyone who is interested.
The only restriction is my time and memory. Sometimes I do 20 million different things and forget each ste, but I will do my best to remember.
I want to help others find their thunder the way my friends have helped me find mine.

Just found this blog through Jen...
You do not know how many people use you as their inspiration...people you don't even know off.
My sister-in-law lives in Cape Town. She is very talented and successful in anything she puts her mind to....unfortunately she has not yet find what she LOVES to do...currently she is working in a photography shop doing EVERYTHING...knows Photoshop from front to back...takes portrait photos of students....and is not having fun at all with any of this! All that she's doing is not out of choice...she has to.
So for the past 3 years i've tried to encourage her to get to know herself to be able to find what is going to really make her happy...
In February I went to visit in SA and to make this long story short...it seems as if she is trying to find her own niche in photography...not necessarily to sell, but just to enjoy.
AND (here is the fabulous part which makes me jump up and down)....once, for she sounds more passionate about it....and two, because it involves YOU! :-)
She said if there is anyone she admires...who's photography talks to her...who she is inspired by...who makes her want to 'get more into it'....it is YOU!
There you go Sweetie, I hope this makes you leap with joy! There are so many people you don't even know of, that you are inspiring...sometimes we just have to think from a different direction!
Your senior photos ROCK!!!! xx
ps;you don't have to approve the comment...just wanted to let you know! xx
i've been devouring your blog! as a newcomer to the photography {business} and without any established photog friends, i've been blindly feeling my way along.
